JET-LUBE EXTREME mud resistant drill collar and tool joint compound is a premium quality, unleaded compound containing copper flake, graphite and other natural extreme pressure and anti-wear additives. These are blended into JET-LUBE's newest high temperature complex base grease.

Tool Joint and Drill Collar Compound



This new base grease offers the additional advantage of superior adhesion, improved EP and antiwear properties, resistance to water wash-off, and superior rust and corrosion protection in the presence of invert or high-pH muds.


EXTREME’s solids package is formulated to prevent excessive circumferential makeup by increasing the coefficient of friction under compressive forces. As stress levels rise above 50% of yield, the friction factor increases, limiting downhole makeup. Full hydraulic joint efficiency is maintained allowing joint shoulder faces to mate completely without standoff or deformation.



EXTREME has been designed to utilize the makeup charts in API RP7G. In the more severe drilling situations such as higher speeds, higher penetration rates, deviated holes or harder formations, drill collars and/or standard rotary shouldered connections should be made up 20% over the listed RP7G values. This may also be a consideration for premium threaded connnections.


Not recommended for oxygen services.
