TF-15 Arctic is a sealing compound for narrow clearance threads, it is a high pressure sealant containing PTFE, graphite, rust, corrosion, oxidation and H2S inhibitors. All are blended in JET-LUBE's H2S resistant grease manufactured using highly-refined, low-sulfur oil to ensure brushability over a wide temperature range, tenacious adherence to all surfaces, resistance to water washout, and prevention of rust/corrosion. TF-15 ARCTIC differs from the standard version using smaller particle sizes of the solids and using some altered shapes of the particles to reduce the extruding of the compound from the threads as the pipe engages. Larger particles are often blocked from the threads and result in compound being wiped from the threads. This can create leak paths within the helical thread void. Reducing the fluid carrier viscosity also reduces the potential for hydraulic cell development in the threads that can lead to incomplete connection engagement. Over time the cell will leak down, leading to loose connections and leakage.
